Benzylpenicillin (also known as penicillin G) is an injectable form of penicillin. (Penicillin V is the form of penicillin that’s taken by mouth.)
Benzylpencillin is an antibiotic given by injection to treat various bacterial infections. These include ear, nose and throat infections and skin infections, as well as more serious infections such as heart infections (endocarditis), pneumonia, meningitis, septicaemia (blood poisoning), tetanus, Lyme disease, leptospirosis (Weil’s disease) and anthrax.
