Doxazosin is an antihypertensive medicine which is used to treat high blood pressure and relieve symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (prostate enlargement) such as painful urination or urinary urgency. This medicine should be used with caution since it may cause a temporary loss of consciousness due to the sudden decrease in blood pressure (syncope). This medicine is not recommended for use in children.
