Valdecoxib is used to relieve pain and swelling in conditions such as arthritis and dysmenorrhea. Patients are advised to drink an adequate amount of water during treatment with this medicine to minimize stomach irritation. Close monitoring of liver function is necessary while receiving this medicine. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age.
