    ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s is used in the treatment of meningitis, which is an inflammation of the protective membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. This infection may be caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Neisseria meningitidis.

  • Bacterial Septicemia

    ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s is used in the treatment of septicemia which is an infection of the blood caused by Staphylococci and Streptococcus pyogenes.

  • Gonococcal Infection

    ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s is used in the treatment of gonococcal infection which is a sexually transmitted bacterial infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

  • Urinary Tract Infection

    ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s is used in the treatment of infections of the urinary tract caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

  • Pneumonia

    ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s is contraindicated for use if Lidocaine is used as a solvent for intravenous injection. Lidocaine can be used as a solvent for the intramuscular route of injection for this medicine, despite contraindications.

  • Calcium-containing products

    ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s is contraindicated in neonates who are on calcium-containing intravenous solutions or infusions such as parenteral nutrition because of the risk of precipitation of ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s and calcium.

General Warnings
  • Allergy

    This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of allergy to ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s or Beta-lactam Antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins.

  • Hemolytic anemia

    An immune mediated hemolytic anemia has been reported in patients receiving ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s and other cephalosporins. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue the medicine if you develop hemolytic anemia until the exact cause is determined.

  • Prothrombin time

    Alterations in prothrombin time (a test used to check for bleeding problems) have been reported in patients receiving ACMEX 1gm Injection 1s . Regular monitoring of prothrombin time may be necessary for some patients. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

  • Drug-resistance

Antibiotic therapy may cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora in the large intestine; this may promote the growth of bacteria called Clostridium difficile, leading to severe diarrhea. Your doctor may prescribe a safer alternative based on your clinical condition.

  • Use in neonates

    is not recommended in patients less than 28 days of age.
