What is it prescribed for?

Prostatitis
AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s is used in the treatment of Prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland that produces semen) caused by Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas, and Enterococcus species.

Urinary Tract Infection
AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s is used in the treatment of urinary tract infections like Cystitis caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s if you have a known allergy to this medicine or any other medicines belonging to the class fluoroquinolones.

Tendinitis or tendon rupture
Avoid taking this medicine if you have a past history of tendinitis or tendon rupture after using AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s .

Myasthenia gravis
Avoid taking this medicine if you have a past or family history of Myasthenia Gravis (weakness and rapid fatigue of muscles under voluntary control).

Tendinitis and tendon rupture
Use of AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s will increase the risk to develop tendinitis or tendon rupture during the treatment or several months after treatment. It will affect the shoulder, hand, back of the ankle, or other parts of the body. The risk is more if you are above 60 years of age and have a history of kidney, heart, or lung transplant or any joint disease. You are also at high risk if you are on corticosteroids like dexamethasone, methylprednisolone or prednisone.

Drug-resistance
Usage of AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.

Pediatric use
The safety and effectiveness of AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s have not been established in children and adolescents less than 18 years of age.

Impaired liver function
AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s should be used with caution in the patients with the history of liver injury due to the increase in the risk of liver enzymes.

Missed Dose
The missed dose should be taken as soon possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it's already time for your next scheduled dose.

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of overdose.

If you suffer from CNS disorder and you take AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s , then you may experience tremors, restlessness, anxiety, confusion and hallucinations. Avoid consuming caffeine-containing products like coffee, chocolates and energy drinks.

Avoid using AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s if you experience any chest discomfort. Regular cardiac function tests are to be performed if you have any heart disease (arrhythmia) or family history of heart disease.

Avoid taking AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s if you experience severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, and blood in stools after taking the medicine. Inform the doctor if you have any gastrointestinal diseases. Drink adequate amount of water to prevent dehydration.
General Instructions
Take AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s one hour before or two hours after the food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects. Do not stop taking AL FLOX 400mg Tablet 10s before completion of course.
