    How to use Anzol Injection 50 mg 5 Ampx2 mL

    IM: No dilution is needed. IV: Intermittent bolus: Dilute vials to 2.5 mg/ mL; infuse at 4 mL/min (5 min). Intermittent infusion: Dilute vials to 0.5 mg/ mL; infuse at 5-7 mL/min (15-20 min). Continuous IV infusion: Administer at 6.25 mg/hr and titrate dosage based on gastric pH by continuous infusion over 24 hours. Solutions are stable for 48 hours at room temperature. Vials can be mixed with NS or D5W.
    Compatibility: Stable in D5 ½ NS, D5W, D10W, fat emulsion 10%, LR, NS, sodium bicarbonate 5%.
    Y-site administration:
    Drug to Drug IV Compatibility: Acyclovir, amiodarone, aztreonam, cephazolin, cefepime, ciprofloxacin, cisatracurium, digoxin, diltiazem, dobutamine, dopamine, enalapril, epinephrine, esmolol, fentanyl, fluconazole, furosemide, gentamicin, heparin, labetalol, linezolid, lorazepam, meropenem, methylprednisolone, metoclopramide, midazolam, milrinone, morphine, nitroglycerin, nitroprusside, norepinephrine, ondansetron, piperacillin/tazobactam, propofol, vancomycin, vecuronium.
    Drug to Drug IV Incompatibility: Amphotericin B cholesteryl sulphate complex, hetastarch, insulin regular.
    In syringe: Incompatible with hydroxyzine, methotrimeprazine, midazolam, pentobarbital, phenobarbital.
    When admixed: Incompatible with amphotericin B, atracurium, cefamandole, cephazolin, cefoxitin, ceftazidime, cefuroxime, ethacrynate, metaraminol, phytonadione.
    Stability: Store vials between 4°C-30°C. Protect from light.

    UNLICENSED USE
    Children: Reflux oesophagitis, benign gastric and duodenal ulcer, prophylaxis of stress ulcer and other conditions where gastric acid reduction is beneficial: ORAL: Neonate, 2 mg/kg daily, max 3 mg/kg; 1-6 mth, 1 mg/kg daily, max 3 mg/kg; 6 mth-3 yr, 2-4 mg/kg twice daily. INJECTION: Neonates: By slow IV injection 0.5-1 mg/kg every 6-8 hr. 1-6 mth: By slow IV injection, 1 mg/kg (max 50 mg) every 6-8 hr or by intermittent infusion, 1 mg/kg (max 50 mg) every 6-8 hr at a rate of 25 mg/hr.
    Prophylaxis of stress ulceration: Adults and Children: Over 12 yr, by slow IV injection over at least 2 minutes, 50 mg diluted to 20 mL, every 8 hr. May be changed or orally 150 mg twice daily when oral feeding commences.

    Headache, dizziness, changes in liver function. Rarely hepatitis, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, agranulocytosis, pancytopenia, hypersensitivity, confusion, breast symptoms in men, reversible impotence, rash, bradycardia, pancreatitis.

    What happens if I miss a dose of Anzol Injection 50 mg 5 Ampx2 mL?

    Adults: ORAL: Duodenal and gastric ulcer: 150 mg twice daily or 300 mg at bedtime for four wk or 300 mg twice daily; maintenance, 150 mg at bedtime.
    DU with H. pylori: 300 mg at bedtime for 4 wk plus amoxicillin 750 mg three times daily and metronidazole 500 mg three times daily for 2 wk.
    Prevention of NSAID induced duodenal ulcer: 150 mg twice daily.
    Reflux oesophagitis: 150 mg twice daily or 300 mg at bedtime for up to 12 wk. If moderate to severe, 150 mg four times daily for up to 12 wk.
    Prevention of heartburn: 75 mg 30-60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages which caused heartburn. Max 150 mg/day. Do not use for more than 14 days.
    Pathological hyper secretory conditions: 150 mg twice daily, adjust as necessary, doses up to 6 gm/day have been used.
    GERD: 150 mg twice daily.
    Erosive oesophagitis: Treatment, 150 mg four times daily, maintenance 150 mg twice daily.
    Adults: INJECTION: IM: 50 mg every 6-8 hr. IV: By slow IV injection, 50 mg diluted to 20 mL and administered over at least 2 minutes. 50 mg may be repeated every 6-8 hr. May be given as an intermittent infusion at a rate of 25 mg/hr over a period of 15-20 minutes. May be given by continuous IV infusion, initial 1 mg/kg/hr, titrate dose based on gastric pH.
    Children: Reflux oesophagitis, benign gastric and duodenal ulceration, prophylaxis of stress ulceration, other conditions where gastric acid reduction is beneficial: ORAL: 3-12 yr 2-4 mg/kg (max. 150 mg) twice daily; increased up to 5 mg/kg (max. 300 mg) twice daily in severe gastro-oesophageal reflux disease; 12-18 yr, 150 mg twice daily or 300 mg at night; increased if necessary, to 300 mg twice daily or 150 mg 4 times daily for up to 12 wk in moderate to severe gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. In fat malabsorption syndrome, give 1-2 hr before food to enhance effects of pancreatic enzyme replacement. INJECTION: By slow IV injection: 6 mth-18 yr, 1 mg/kg, max 50 mg, every 6-8 hr. May be given as an intermittent infusion at a rate of 25 mg/hr.
