How it Works

BLINCYTO contains the active ingredient blinatumomab, which is a type of immunotherapy known as a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) antibody. It works by binding to both CD19 on B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cells and CD3 on T-cells. This dual binding activates the T-cells to target and destroy the leukemia cells.

Indications

• Treatment of adults and children with B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that is in first or second complete remission with minimal residual disease (MRD) greater than or equal to 0.1%
• Treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to blinatumomab or any of its excipients
• Active systemic infections
• Patients with underlying conditions that might be worsened by cytokine release syndrome
• Severe or life-threatening side effects from prior treatments with BLINCYTO
