• Uncontrolled active bleeding

  This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with an active bleeding disorder that may be caused due to complications such as a peptic ulcer or hemorrhages in the head region due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.

• Intracranial bleeding

  This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a history of bleeding inside the skull since the risk of recurrence of severe bleeding is significantly high.

• Pregnancy

  This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. Your doctor will determine the best course of treatment after evaluating the potential benefits and risks associated with the use of this medicine.

• Breast-feeding

  This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue the drug or to discontinue breastfeeding based on your clinical condition.

• Other medicines

  Brilinta 90mg tablet (Ticagrelor) may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.

• Risk of bleeding

  Use of this medicine may increase the chances of bleeding, especially in patients with a history of bleeding disorders. It is advised to manage the bleeding without discontinuing the use of this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

• Maintenance dose of aspirin

  This medicine is normally used in a combination with aspirin. The dose of aspirin in a combination with this medicine should not exceed 100 mg.

• Dyspnea

  Use of this medicine may cause breathing difficulties, especially in patients with a history of dyspnea. If the symptoms of dyspnea become very severe, then the use of this medicine should be discontinued.

• Termination of use

  Discontinuing the use of this medicine may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart-related complications in some patients. If there is a clinical necessity to stop the use of this medicine, then the uptake of this medicine should be resumed as soon as possible.

• Heart rhythm abnormalities

  Use of this medicine may cause heart rhythm abnormalities in some patients; the likelihood of occurrence is higher in patients with a history of heart-related complications like sick sinus syndrome, 2nd or 3rd degree AV block, bradycardia related syncope not protected by a pacemaker, etc. Additional monitoring may be required in such cases since the risk of adverse events is significantly high. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.

• Liver diseases

  This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe impairment of liver function unless absolutely necessary. For mild to moderate impairment of liver function, this medicine may be given with appropriate dose adjustments and frequent monitoring of liver function tests.

• Use in Children

  This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

• Driving or Operating machinery

  Use of this medicine may cause blurred vision or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not take it in larger or smaller quantities than recommended. Report any heart-related adverse events to the doctor while this medicine is being taken. Ensure that the course of treatment is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.
