  • Breast-feeding

  • Other diseases

    Report the past/present incidence of all diseases including heart and blood vessels disorder, electrolyte imbalance, any disease associated with thyroid and other glands etc to the doctor. All the other conditions should be considered before therapy with this medicine is initiated.

  • Hypokalemia

    Use of this medicine can cause a decrease in blood potassium levels and hence should be administered with caution in patients suffering from Hypokalemia.

  • Paradoxical bronchospasm

    Use of this medicine has been associated with worsening of asthma symptoms in some instances. Contact your doctor immediately if breathing becomes more difficult after using this medicine. The use of Bronchilate tablet 2 mg 100’s should stop immediately in such cases.

  • Excessive use

    It is recommended to use this medicine in prescribed quantities only as excessive use may cause some severe adverse effects and may prove fatal in some cases.

  • Milk protein allergy

    This medicine should not be used in patients who have a history of allergy to milk proteins.

  • Use in elderly

    This medicine should be used with caution in the elderly as the risk of adverse effects are significantly high.

Dosage

  • Missed Dose

    Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped.

  • Overdose

    Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose with this medicine is suspected. Symptoms of an overdose may include dry mouth, shaking, chest pain, increased heart rate, convulsions, and fainting.

General Instructions

Take Bronchilate tablet 2 mg 100’s exactly as prescribed. The prescribed dose form, frequency, and duration of uptake are specific as per your needs. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller quantities or for longer than recommended. Contact your doctor if no visible improvements in symptoms are observed after use.

How to use Bronchilate tablet 2 mg 100’s

For broncho-dilatation: Dilute 5 mg with 500 mL dextrose 5% or sodium chloride 0.9%; For premature labour: Dilute with dextrose 5% to a conc. of 200 mcg/mL for use in a syringe pump or for other infusion methods (preferably via controlled infusion device), dilute to a conc. of 20 mcg/mL; close attention to patient’s fluid & electrolyte status essential.
Compatibility: 0.9% NS, 5% dextrose, D5W/NS.
Stability: Store below 30°C. Protect from light.

Fine tremor, feeling of tension, headache, tachycardia, peripheral vasodilation.

What happens if I miss a dose of Bronchilate tablet 2 mg 100’s?

ORAL: Bronchial complaints: Adults: 2-4 mg three or four times daily.
Children: Under 2 yr, not recommended; 2-6 yr, 1-2 mg; 6-12 yr, 2 mg; 12-18 yr, 4 mg. All three or four times daily.
INJECTION: Severe bronchospasm and status asthmatic: Adults: 8 mcg/kg SC or IM four hourly, or 4 mcg/kg by slow IV inj repeated if necessary.
Uncomplicated premature labour: By IV Inf or IV Inj or IM Inj: Adults: 100-250 mcg. The dose may be repeated according to the response of the patient. Once the uterine contractions have ceased, maintenance therapy can be continued with Salbutamol Tab 4 mg given three or four times daily.
Children: Management of Acute Asthma: By IV injection over 5 minutes: 1 mth-2 yr, 5 mcg/kg as a single dose; 2-18 yr, 15 mcg/kg, max 250 mcg as a single dose. Continuous IV infusion; 1 mth-18 yr, 1-2 mcg/kg/minute, adjusted according to response and heart rate up to 5 mcg/kg/minute; doses above 2 mcg/kg/minute should be given in an intensive care setting.
Severe hyperkalaemia: IV injection over 5 minutes: Neonate, 4 mcg/kg as a single dose; repeat if necessary; 1 mth-18 yr, 4 mcg/kg as a single dose; repeat if necessary.
