    Calzem tablet SR 60 mg 20’s may cause slow heart rates and this effect is more in the patients who are on beta-blockers or digitalis. Frequent monitoring of heart function is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

  • Impaired liver function

    Calzem tablet SR 60 mg 20’s may cause a mild elevation in the liver enzymes like alkaline phosphatase, LDH, SGOT, SGPT. These levels return to normal once the medicine is discontinued. Close monitoring of liver function tests is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

  • Skin reaction

    Calzem tablet SR 60 mg 20’s may cause rare but severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolusis, erythema multiforme and/or exfoliative dermatitis. Any symptoms of skin rash or itching should be reported to the doctor.

  • Use in children

    This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

UNLICENSED USE
Children: Raynaud’s syndrome: ORAL:12-18 yr, 30-60 mg 2-3 times daily.

what are the adverse effects of Calzem tablet SR 60 mg 20’s?

Bradycardia, 1st degree AV block, ankle oedema, nausea, headache, rash, flushing, hypotension, GI upset, fatigue, gingival hyperplasia. Changes in liver function, hepatitis, palpitations, dizziness, malaise, asthaenia, erythema, pruritus, hyperglycaemia. Mood changes incl depression.

What happens if I miss a dose of Calzem tablet SR 60 mg 20’s?

Adults: Usually 60 mg three times daily, increasing if necessary to max 480 mg daily in divided doses. Elderly: Initially 60 mg twice daily. Children: Not recommended.
