How it works
Cecon tablet Chewable 500 mg 40’s dissociates at physiological pH to form ascorbate, the redox state of the vitamin which is found most abundantly in cells [1]. It is well known that ascorbate acts physiologically as a reductant and enzyme cofactor.

How to use Cecon tablet Chewable 500 mg 40’s
IM route is preferred, may also administer IV or SC. When administered IV, infuse slowly, avoid rapid IV injection.
Stability: Dispensing vial: Store in carton until time of use. Store below 23°C (73°F). Protect from light.
UNLICENSED USE
Children: Metabolic disorders (tyrosinaemia type III; transient tyrosinaemia of the newborn; glutathione synthase deficiency; Hawkinsinuria): Orally. Neonate, 50-200 mg daily, adjusted as necessary; 1 mth-18 yr, 200-400 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses, adjusted as necessary; up to 1 gm daily may be required.

Hyperoxaluria, dizziness, faintness, fatigue, flank pain, headache.
What happens if I miss a dose of Cecon tablet Chewable 500 mg 40’s?
Adults: Scurvy: Orally or by Injection: 100-250 mg 1-2 times daily for at least 2 wk.
Urinary acidification: Orally, 4-12 gm daily in 3-4 divided doses.
Prevention and treatment colds: Orally, 1-3 gm daily.
Dietary supplement: Orally, 50-200 mg daily.
Children: Treatment of scurvy: Orally. 1 mth-4 yr, 125-250 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses; 4-12 yr, 250-500 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses; 12-18 yr, 500 mg-1 gm daily in 1-2 divided doses.
Urinary acidification: Orally. Above 1 yr, 500 mg every 6-8 hr.
Dietary supplement: Orally. 35-100 mg daily.
Adjunct to desferrioxamine: (Vitamin C is used to enhance excretion of iron one mth after desferrioxamine therapy): Orally. 1 mth-18 yr, 100-200 mg daily 1 hr before food.
