Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s is used in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder which is an illness characterized by excessive worry or tension that disturbs daily life.

Depression
Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s is used in the treatment of depression which is an illness characterized by sadness, loss of interest, irritability, and sleeplessness.
When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid if you have a known allergy to Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s or other medicines of the same class (SSRI).

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
Do not take are taking MAOIs like selegiline, moclobemide with Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s or within 14 days of stopping Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s. Also, do not take Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s within 14 days of stopping MAOIs.

Pimozide
Do not take these medicines together due to the increased risk of QT prolongation.

Pediatric population
Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s is not recommended for children under the age of 12 years.

Diabetes
Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s will alter the blood glucose levels. Use with caution if you are diabetic..

Bleeding abnormality
Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s may increase the risk of bleeding. Use with caution if you suffering from bleeding disorders or concomitant use of aspirin, NSAIDS and other anticoagulants.

Angle-closure glaucoma
Use with caution if you are suffering from angle-closure glaucoma or have a history of glaucoma.

Suicidal tendency
Studies show that these medicines may increase the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children, adolescents, and young adults (age between 18 to 24) with major depressive disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders.

Impaired kidney and liver function
Use with caution in severe kidney disease and liver disease.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Use with caution in adults and pediatrics with depression as it may worsen the symptoms. Close monitoring of these symptoms or any changes in the behavior is necessary. Discontinue the medicine if symptoms persist.

Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s is not recommended in patients with unstable epilepsy or in patients who develops seizures for the first time.

Take Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s with or without food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects. Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms.

Nausea, sweating, somnolence, dizziness, insomnia, GI upset, reduced appetite, sexual dysfunction, fatigue, pyrexia, sinusitis, yawning.
What happens if I miss a dose of Cironex tablet 10 mg 2×7’s?
Adults: Depression: Usually 10 mg once daily, increasing if necessary to max 20 mg once daily. Continue treatment for minimum 6 mth.
Panic disorder: Initially 5 mg once daily for 1st wk then 10 mg once daily; max 20 mg once daily. Elderly: Reduce initial and max dose. 10 mg once daily.
Children: Not recommended.
