Hypertension
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s is used in the treatment of Hypertension which is an increase in the blood pressure caused by genetic and/or environmental factors.
When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid if you have a known history of allergy to Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s or any other medicines belonging to the group Beta Blockers.

Cardiogenic shock
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s is not recommended in the patients suffering from cardiogenic shock.

Heart block greater than first degree
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s is not recommended in the patients having a heart block greater than first degree.

Sinus Bradycardia
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s is not recommended in the patients suffering from Bradycardia.

Cardiac Failure
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s can cause heart failure and reduced flow of blood to the especially in people having a heart disease. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring might be required based on the severity of the disease.

Major surgery
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s is given with caution in the patients who are scheduled for a major surgery. An anesthetic agent with little negative inotropic activity should be selected to minimize the effect on the heart.

Lung Disease
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s should be used with caution in the patients with lung disease who do not respond to other antihypertensives. Diabetes
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s should be administered with caution in patients with diabetes. It may mask the hypoglycemic symptoms. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is necessary. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.

Sports
It is advised to not indulge in certain sports while consuming this medicine. Archery, racing, shooting and other high-risk sports should be avoided. Sportspersons should refer to the list of banned medicines published by World Anti-Doping Agency while participating in specific sports events.

Hyperthyroidism
Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s should be administered with caution in patients with increased thyroid levels. Abrupt withdrawal of this medicine may lead to a life-threatening condition called thyroid-storm. Frequent monitoring of thyroid levels is necessary. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s , take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

what are the adverse effects of Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s?
Cardiovascular effects including bradycardia, postural hypotension. Rarely, heart failure, increased AV block, cardiac arrhythmias. Raynaud’s phenomenon, cold extremities, sexual dysfunction. GI, sleep and CNS disturbances. Dyspnoea rarely, bronchospasm. Skin reactions, withdraw if unexplained dry eyes or rash. Fatigue, paraesthesia, peripheral neuropathy, arthralgia, myopathy, altered blood sugar, haematology and lipid levels.
What happens if I miss a dose of Concor tablet 2.5 mg 14’s?
Angina/Hypertension: Adults: Usually 10 mg once daily; max 20 mg daily. Children: Not recommended.
