How it works
Costa capsule 375 mg 30’s works by making phlegm (mucus) less sticky. This makes it easier for you to cough up. If you have a condition such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or cystic fibrosis, your body can make too much phlegm and it can be thick and sticky

What is it prescribed for?

Mucolytic
This medicine is a mucolytic agent used as adjunct therapy (add on therapy with the primary treatment) to relieve the chest congestion caused by thick and sticky mucus in the airways associated with respiratory disorders.
When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Costa capsule 375 mg 30’s or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Peptic Ulcer
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from peptic ulcer due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.

Use in children
Capsule Form: The capsule form of this medicine is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established. Syrup Form: The syrup form of this medicine is not recommended for use in children below 2 years of age except on the instruction of the doctor.

Gastrointestinal Ulcers
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with gastrointestinal ulcers due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

What happens if I miss a dose of Costa capsule 375 mg 30’s?
Adults: Initially 15 mL three times daily or 3 cap twice daily, reducing to 15 mL or 2 cap twice daily once a satisfactory response has been obtained. Children: Under 2 yr: Not recommended. 2 – 5 yr: 2.5 – 5 mL four times daily; 5 – 12 yr: 10 mL three times daily.
