CRIPTON 2.5mg Tablet 100s is used in the treatment of Acromegaly which is a condition characterized by an increase in the growth hormone secretion.

When not to use?

Allergy
Not recommended in patients with known allergy to CRIPTON 2.5mg Tablet 100s or ergot alkaloids.

Breastfeeding
Not recommended in breastfeeding women due to the decrease in the milk production.

Hypotension
This medicine may alter the blood pressure, especially while increasing the dose, and increases the risk of orthostatic hypotension. Close monitoring of blood pressure is necessary. The dose should be reduced if the symptoms worsen.

WIthdrawal effects
This medicine should not be stopped immediately without informing the doctor as it may cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome-like symptoms like fever, muscular rigidity, altered mental status. It is advised to decrease the dose gradually based on the clinical condition.

Psychosis
This medicine is known to cause psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, confusion, anxiety, depression. It should be used with caution in patients with nervous system disorders. Close monitoring of symptoms of depression and suicidal thoughts is necessary.
