Adults: 25-50 mg every 3 wk. Anaemia of chronic renal failure: Male: 200 mg every wk; Female: 100 mg every wk. Aplastic anaemia: 50-150 mg every wk. Anaemia due to cytotoxic therapy: 200 mg every wk starting 2 wk prior to the course of cytotoxic therapy, this treatment should be continued throughout the cytotoxic therapy and thereafter during the recovery period until the blood count has returned to normal.
