What is it prescribed for?

Type II Diabetes Mellitus
Dibilo tablet 4 mg 20’s is used to control blood sugar levels in adults with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. The medicine is generally taken in conjunction with controlled diet and regular exercise.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use by patients with a known history of allergy to Dibilo tablet 4 mg 20’s or any other agents belonging to the Sulphonamide class of antidiabetic medicines.

Hypoglycemia
Dibilo tablet 4 mg 20’s can cause moderate to severe lowering of blood glucose levels. The risks are even greater in elderly, malnourished, people with kidney and pituitary gland disorders. You should report any such incidence to the doctor. Carry a reliable source of glucose like sugar candy to counteract the effect of low blood sugar levels.

Stress
Use of this medicine should be discontinued in patients exposed to stressful conditions such as a fever, trauma, surgeries, or accidents since it may not be effective in controlling blood sugar levels in these conditions. Replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered under your doctor's supervision.

Liver/Kidney disease
Dibilo tablet 4 mg 20’s should be administered with caution in patients with a disorder of kidney and/or liver. Suitable dosage adjustments and monitoring of blood sugar levels are necessary in such cases.

Photo-sensitivity

General Instructions
Take Dibilo tablet 4 mg 20’s as directed by your doctor. Follow the instructions mentioned on the label. The medicine should be taken orally with breakfast or the first meal of the day. Adequate amount of water should be consumed while taking this medication.

Hypoglycaemia, signs of adrenergic counterregulation, hepatitis, liver failure, thrombocytopenia, haemolytic anaemia, GI upset, skin reactions, blood dyscrasias, transient visual disturbances.
What happens if I miss a dose of Dibilo tablet 4 mg 20’s?
Adults: Usual initial dosage 1 mg once daily; daily dosage may be increased at intervals of 1-2 wk and carried out stepwise as follows: 1 mg, 2 mg, 3 mg, 4 mg, 6 mg and in exceptional cases 8 mg. Usual maintenance dose 1 mg to 4 mg daily. Children: Not recommended.
