What is it prescribed for?

• Rheumatoid Arthritis

  This medicine is used to relieve pain and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease that affects the joints, in adult patients. It is also effective in reducing structural damages and improving physical functions in adult patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis.

• Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

  This medicine is used to relieve pain, swelling, structural damage, and developmental defects associated with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, an autoimmune disease that affects the joints in children aged 2 years and above.

• Psoriatic Arthritis

  This medicine is used to relieve pain, swelling, and formation of scales on the skin associated with psoriatic arthritis (an autoimmune disease affects the joints in patients with psoriasis) in adults. It also reduces structural damages and improves physical functions in adults with psoriatic arthritis.

• Ankylosing Spondylitis

  This medicine is used to relieve pain, swelling, and structural damage associated with ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune disease affects the vertebral column in adults.

• Chronic plaque psoriasis

  This medicine is used for the treatment of moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis where systemic therapy or phototherapy can be used and use of other medicines are inappropriate.

It is recommended to monitor patients with evidence of current or prior hepatitis B infection for signs and symptoms of reactivation. An alternative treatment option should be considered in some cases based on the clinical condition.

  Use of this medicine may cause serious and life-threatening infections caused by a wide variety of pathogens. Hence, treatment with this medicine should not be initiated in a patient with an active infection. While taking this medicine, any signs and symptoms of an infection like fever, chills, sore throat, diarrhea etc should be reported to the doctor immediately.

  This medicine should be used with caution in patients with alcoholic hepatitis since it may worsen the condition. Close monitoring of liver function is required in these patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor on priority. It is recommended to discontinue the use of this medicine if neurological disorders develop during the treatment course.
