Uses of EVOROX 250mg Injection 1s

What is it prescribed for?

• Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis

  This medicine is used for the treatment of infections of the throat and airways leading to the lungs, namely tonsillitis and pharyngitis, caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes.

• Ear Infection (Otitis Media)

  This medicine is used in the treatment of otitis media (middle ear infection) caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, staphylococci, Streptococcus pyogenes, etc.

• Sinusitis

  This medicine is used for the treatment of sinusitis, which is an inflammation of the sinuses, caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

• Bronchitis

  This medicine is used for the treatment of bronchitis, which is an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes, caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

• Skin and Soft tissue infections

  This medicine is used in the treatment of skin or soft tissue infections caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, etc.

• Urinary Tract Infection

  This medicine is used in the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli, etc.

• Lyme disease

  This medicine is used in the treatment of Lyme disease, which is a bacterial infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi. This disease may be associated with symptoms such as a fever, skin rashes with a bulls-eye pattern, growing area of skin redness, etc.

• Gonococcal Infection

  This medicine is used in the treatment of a gonococcal infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

When not to use?

• Clostridium difficile-associated DiarrheaImpaired kidney function

  Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority and avoid usage of this medicine in these cases.

• Impaired kidney function

  This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of renal impairment due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

• Drug-resistance

  Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.

• Use in pediatrics

  Use of EVOROX 250mg Injection 1s is not recommended for infants less than 3 months of age.

• Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction

  This medicine may cause Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction in some patients when it is used for treating Lyme disease. This reaction is characterized by symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, dizziness, increased heart rate, etc. This reaction usually subsides on its own. Appropriate corrective measures or dose adjustments may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Oral forms: Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. You may take this medicine with or without food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. Injection: This medicine should be administered by a qualified healthcare professional in the clinical or hospital setting. Inform the doctor if you have a known history of allergy to this medicine. Report to the doctor all your current medicines as well as your medical conditions before receiving this medicine. Report any undesired side effects to the doctor promptly.
