How to use Gratron Injection 3 mg 1 Amp

IV: Administer as rapid (30 second) IV push or a short (5-10 min) infusion. For prevention of PONV, administer before induction of anaesthesia or before reversal of anaesthesia. For PONV, administer undiluted over 30 seconds.
Compatibility: Stable in D5 ½ NS, D5NS, D5W, NS, bacteriostatic water. Incompatible with amphotericin (Y-site administration).
Stability: Store at 25°C-30°C. Do not freeze vials. Protect from light. Stable when mixed in NS or D5W for 7 days under refrigeration and for 3 days at room temperature.

Headache, insomnia, GI upset, constipation, asthaenia, pain.Transient rise in liver enzymes. Reports of serotonin syndrome. Sancuso: also reports of application site reactions ( discontinue if severe).

What happens if I miss a dose of Gratron Injection 3 mg 1 Amp?

ORAL: Adults: 1 mg twice daily or 2 mg once daily, initial dose administered one hr prior to cytostatic therapy. Children: Not recommended.
INFUSION: Cytostatic induced nausea and vomiting: Adults: Usually 3 mg diluted in 20-50 mL infusion fluid administered by IV infusion over 5 min or diluted in 15 mL infusion fluid administered by IV bolus Inj over 30 sec. If necessary repeat at intervals of at least 10 min; max 9 mg in 24 hr. Children: 40 mcg/kg (upto 3 mg) diluted in 10-30 mL infusion fluid administered by IV infusion over 5 min. If necessary repeat once within 24 hr at least 10 min after initial infusion.
Post-operative nausea and vomiting: Adults: 1 mg diluted to 5 mL administered by slow IV injection over 30 sec prior to induction of anaesthesia.
PATCH: Nausea and vomiting induced by cytotoxic chemotherapy: Adults: For planned duration of 3-5 days where oral anti-emetics cannot be used, transdermally, apply one 3.1 mg/24 hr patch to clean, dry, non-irritated, non-hairy skin on upper arm (or abdomen if upper arm cannot be used) 24-48 hr before treatment, remove at least 24 hr after completing chemotherapy (patch may be worn for up to 7 days). Children: Not recommended.
