How it works
Imiprol tablet 75 mg 5×20’s works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine) in the brain. For bed-wetting, this medication may work by blocking the effect of a certain natural substance (acetylcholine) on the bladder.

What is it prescribed for?

Depression
This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of depression characterized by sadness, loss of interest, irritability, and sleeplessness.

Enuresis
This medicine may also be used for temporary adjunctive therapy to reduce enuresis (bedwetting) while sleeping in children.
When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Imiprol tablet 75 mg 5×20’s or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Myocardial infarction
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients who have had an episode of heart-attack in recent times or recovering from it due to the increased risk of worsening of patients.

Driving or operating machinery
This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Suicidal tendencies
This medicine should be used with caution due to the increased risk of suicidal tendencies. This risk is especially higher in young adult patients. Patients should be closely monitored for any change in mood or behavior. Report any such incidence to the doctor so that counseling and monitoring of progress can be performed at regular intervals. Children: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: 6-18 yr, 10-30 mg twice daily.
what are the adverse effects of Imiprol tablet 75 mg 5×20’s?
Anticholinergic effects, (e.g. dry mouth, blurred vision). Tinnitus, confusion, drowsiness, headache, tremor, ataxia, seizures, movement disorders, dyskinesias. Cardiovascular effects, e.g. hypotension, tachycardia, syncope, conduction disturbances, arrhythmias, GI upset, taste disturbance. Blood dyscrasias, sweating, allergic skin reactions, weight changes, testicular swelling, gynaecomastia, changes in blood sugar concentrations, hyponatraemia. Behavioural disturbances. Hepatic impairment, jaundice.
What happens if I miss a dose of Imiprol tablet 75 mg 5×20’s?
Adults: 25 mg three times daily for three days, increasing to 50 mg three or four times daily. Elderly: Initially 10 mg at night, increasing to 10-25 mg three times daily.
Children: Nocturnal enuresis: 6-8 yr, 25 mg at bedtime; 8-11 yr, 25-50 mg at bedtime; 11-18 yr, 50-75 mg at bedtime. Initial period of treatment (including gradual withdrawal) 3 mth, full physical examination before further course.
