Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s is used in the treatment of severe ulcers caused by chronic acidity.

Gastroesophagal Reflux Disease
Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s is used in the treatment of a reflux disease where acid from the stomach and bile irritates the food pipe.

Helicobacter pylori Infection
Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s is used in combination with other medicines to treat Helicobacter Pylori infection.

Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s is used to treat a condition where excessive amount of acid is produced in the stomach due to tumors in the small intestine.

Other forms of Ulcers
Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s is also used to treat ulcers in the stomach (Gastric) and small intestines (Duodenal). It is also used to prevent ulcers caused due to stress and pain medications.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for patients who are allergic to Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s or any other drug of the same group i.e Benzimidazoles.

Diarrhea
This medicine has been associated with an increased incidence of Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea in some patients. Consult your doctor if you experience diarrhea that does not improve over time.

Liver disease
Report any incidence of liver disease to the doctor. This medicine is not recommended for use if the impairment is severe. For mild to moderate impairment, this medicine can be given with suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring.

Immune system disorder
Use of this medicine for durations longer than medically recommended can cause skin disorders by affecting the immune system. Report any incidence of skin lesion formation to the doctor while using this medicine.

Risk of infections
Use of this medicine increases the susceptibility to infections from bacteria.

Bone fracture
Use of high dose of Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s for prolonged duration may increase the risk of bone fractures especially in older patients and women. Supplements like Calcium citrate and Vitamin D should be taken after consulting the doctor.

Long-term treatment with Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s may decrease the absorption of Vitamin B-12 in the body. Supplements can be taken after consulting the doctor.

General Instructions
Take Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s as instructed by the doctor. This medicine should be taken an hour before food. An adequate amount of water should be consumed with this medicine. Do not take this medicine for longer than the recommended duration.

How to use Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s
Continuous or intermittent IV infusion in NaCl 0.9%:
Reconstitution: Reconstitute 40-80 mg with up to 100 mL infusion fluid; For intermittent infusion, give requisite dose over 10-30 min. For IV injection: Adults: Reconstitute powder with 5 mL NS. For IV infusion: Children: Initially reconstitute powder with 5 mL of NS, then further dilute to a final volume of 50 mL. Adults: Initially reconstitute powder with 5 mL of NS, LR, D5W, then further dilute to a final volume of 50 mL. Reconstituted solution in NS or LR should be used in 12 hours.
Stability: Store vials at 25°C; excursions permitted to 15°C-30°C. Protect from light. Reconstituted solution for infusion prepared in D5W should be used in 6 hours. Refrigeration is not required following reconstitution.
UNLICENSED USE
Children: ORAL: GERD in the presence of erosive reflux oesophagitis: 1-12 yr, body weight 10-20 kg, 10 mg once daily for 8 wk; body weight over 20 kg, 10-20 mg once daily for 8 wk; 12-18 yr, 40 mg once daily for 4 wk, continued for further 4 wk if not fully healed or symptoms persist; maintenance 20 mg daily.
GERD in the absence of erosive reflux oesophagitis: 1-12 yr, body weight over 10 kg, 10 mg once daily for 8 wk; 12-18 yr, 20 mg once daily for 4 wk.
what are the adverse effects of Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s?
Headache, GI upset, skin reaction, dry mouth. Rarely angioedema, anaphylaxis, fundic gland polyps.
What happens if I miss a dose of Intezole tablet 20 mg 14’s?
ORAL: Adults: Erosive oesophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4-8 wk. Prevention of relapse, 20 mg once daily.
GERD without oesophagitis: 20 mg once daily for 4 wk. Maintenance, 20 mg once daily as required.
Triple therapy vs H. pylori: 20 mg twice daily with amoxicillin 1 gm twice daily and clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily for 7 days.
NSAID ulceration: 20 mg once daily for 4-8 wk, Prevention, 20 mg once daily.
Children: Not recommended.
INJECTION: Adults: Reflux oesophagitis: 40 mg once daily given as IV inj over a period of at least 3 min or as IV inf over a period of 10-30 min.
Symptomatic treatment of reflux oesophagitis: 20 mg once daily, half of the reconstituted solution be given as IV inj over a period of at least 3 min or as IV inf over a period of 10-30 min.
Healing of gastric ulcer associated with NSAID therapy & duodenal ulcers associated with NSAID therapy: 20 mg once daily. Treatment duration is usually short & transfer to oral as soon as possible.
Severe peptic ulcer bleeding (following endoscopic treatment: Initial IV infusion of 80 mg over 30 min, then by continuous IV infusion 8 mg/hr for 72 hr, then by mouth 40 mg once daily for 4 wk.
Children: By IV injection or by IV infusion. GERD in the presence of erosive reflux oesophagitis: 1-12 yr, body weight under 20 kg, 10 mg once daily; body weight over 20 kg, 10-20 mg once daily; 12-18 yr, 40 mg once daily.
GERD in the absence of erosive reflux oesophagitis: 1-12 yr, 10 mg once daily; 12-18 yr, 20 mg once daily.
