IM: In deltoid muscle only. IV: Administered by direct IV injection and continuous IV infusion. Product containing 40, 100, or 200 mg/mL should not be administered by direct IV injection without prior dilution. Usually 1 or 2 gm of lignocaine is added to 1000 mL of dextrose 5% to form a 1 or 2 mg/mL (0.1 or 0.2 %) solution.
Compatibility: Dextrose 5%, or with NaCl 0.45%, NaCl 0.9%.
Stability: Stored at room temperature and protect from heat and freezing.

INJECTION: Adults: Initial: 50-100 mg IV given 25-50 mg/min, may repeat after 5 min. Max: 200-300 mg/hr. Following bolus, initiate with 1-4 mg/min continuous infusion. Maint: Adjust according to cardiac rhythm & toxicity. Children: 1 mg/kg bolus, then 30 mcg/kg/min.
TOPICAL: Apply to affected area as needed; max 3 mg/kg/dose; do not repeat within 2 hr.
