Uses of LABETALOL 50mg Injection Vialx10 ml

What is it prescribed for?

• Hypertension

  This medicine is used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents for the treatment of high blood pressure which may be caused by genetic or environmental factors.

When not to use?

• Major surgery

  This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients who are scheduled for major surgery. An anesthetic agent with little negative inotropic activity should be selected to minimize the effect on the heart.

• Hypotension

  This medicine may cause extremely low blood pressure with or without syncope in some patients. Close monitoring of blood pressure levels, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

• Sports

  It is advised to not indulge in certain sports while consuming this medicine. Archery, racing, shooting, and other high-risk sports should be avoided. Sportspersons should refer to the list of banned medicines published by the World Anti-Doping Agency while participating in specific sports events.

• Hyperthyroidism

  This medicine should be administered with caution in patients suffering from hyperthyroidism since it may mask some of the patient's symptoms. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. You may require a dose adjustment and more frequent clinical monitoring to safely use this medicine. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

• Use in children

  This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

• Driving or operating machinery

  This medicine may cause fatigue, weakness, or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms.
