LESCOL XL 80mg Tablet 28s works by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body to decrease the amount of cholesterol that may build up on the walls of the arteries and block blood flow to the heart, brain, and other parts of the body.

What is it prescribed for?

Primary Hypercholesterolemia (high levels of cholesterol in the blood)
This medicine is used to reduce the abnormally increased cholesterol levels in the blood.

Mixed Dyslipidemia
This medicine is used to reduce high levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. It also increases the blood levels of HDL.

Prevention of cardiovascular diseases
This medicine is used for prevention of stroke and heart attacks in patients with underlying conditions such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, coronary heart disease, etc. It is also used in patients who are exposed to multiple risk factors such as smoking, age, family history, etc.

Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia
This medicine is used for the treatment of this genetic disorder characterized by high cholesterol levels and increased risk of early cardiovascular disease.

Cognitive impairment

Increased blood sugar levels
This medicine may cause an increase in the blood glucose levels. This risk is especially higher in patients with diabetes. Close monitoring of blood glucose is recommended in patients receiving this medicine. Missed Dose
If a dose of LESCOL XL 80mg Tablet 28s is missed, take the dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.
