    Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s may increase the blood glucose levels. Monitoring of blood glucose levels is necessary while you are on this medicine.

  • Myopathy and Rhabdomyolysis

    Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s may increase the risk of Myopathy and Rhabdomyolysis which is a muscular disease. The risk of causing Myopathy is higher in the elderly population, and hence it should be used with caution.

  • Alcohol consumption

    Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s should be used with caution in patients who consume large quantities of alcohol and/or have a history of the chronic liver disease.

  • Pediatric use

    The safety and efficacy of Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s have not been established in the children less than 10 years of age.

    Any symptoms of muscle pain, tenderness or weakness should be reported to the doctor. Inform the doctor if you have any history of muscle disorder.

    Before taking this medicine, inform the doctor if you are suffering from diabetes. Regular blood glucose tests are to be made and appropriate diet should be maintained.

Food interactions
  • Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended when the patient is on Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s. Any symptoms of tenderness, weakness, dark colored urine should be reported to the doctor. Frequent monitoring of kidney function tests are to be made.

General Instructions

Take Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s with or without food at evening time. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. Inform the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects.

what are the adverse effects of Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s?

Constipation, flatulence, headache, asthaenia, nausea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain diarrhoea, rash, alopecia, dizziness, muscle cramps, myalgia, pancreatitis, paraesthesia, peripheral neuropathy, anaemia, hepatitis, jaundice. Rarely, rhabdomyolysis, myopathy; measure creatine phosphokinase levels; withdraw therapy if markedly raised. Reports of immune-mediated necrotising myopathy.

What happens if I miss a dose of Lipaxin tablet 20 mg 10’s?

Adults: Hyperlipidaemia: Initially 10 mg at night adjusting at minimum 4 wk intervals according to response. Usual range 10-80 mg daily a single dose at night.
CHD: Initially 20 mg at night adjusting at minimum 4 wk intervals according to response. Usual range 80 mg daily a single dose at night.
Homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia: 40 mg at night or 80 mg daily in three divided doses.
Children: Under 5 yr, not recommended. Hyperlipidaemia including familial hypercholesterolaemia: 5-10 yr, initially 10 mg at night increased, if necessary, at intervals of at least 4 wk to max 20 mg at night; 10-18 yr, initially 10 mg at night increased, if necessary, at intervals of at least 4 wk to max 40 mg at night.
