This medicine in combination with a sulfonamide is used to treat toxoplasmosis which is characterized by symptoms like muscle pain, fever, and headache. This medicine is also used as a prophylactic treatment for toxoplasmosis.

This medicine in combination with dapsone is used in prophylaxis treatment for pneumocystis pneumonia.

If you are on a daily scheduled dosing regimen of this medicine, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative might be required in some cases.
