This medicine in combination with a sulfonamide is used to treat toxoplasmosis which is characterized by symptoms like muscle pain, fever, and headache. This medicine is also used as a prophylactic treatment for toxoplasmosis.

Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative might be required in some cases.
