Nifedipine 0.3% W/W, Lidocaine 1.5% W/W (Anobliss Cream)

Belongs to Category

How it Works:

Anobliss Cream combines two active ingredients: Nifedipine and Lidocaine. Nifedipine belongs to a class of medications known as calcium channel blockers, while Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. This combination cream is primarily used for the treatment of anal fissures, a common condition characterized by small tears in the lining of the anus.

Nifedipine works by blocking the entry of calcium into smooth muscle cells in blood vessels, causing them to relax and dilate. When applied to the anal area, Nifedipine helps relax the internal anal sphincter, reducing sphincter spasm and improving blood flow to the area. This action helps promote healing of anal fissures by reducing pain and promoting tissue repair.

Lidocaine, on the other hand, acts as a local anesthetic. It works by temporarily numbing the nerves in the affected area, providing immediate pain relief. Lidocaine blocks the transmission of pain signals from the nerve endings to the brain, thereby reducing discomfort associated with anal fissures.
