How to use Norepine Injection 2 mg 10 Amp

By IV infusion into a large vein. A 4 mcg/mL dilution of norepinephrine base for infusion is usually prepared by adding 4 mg of base (4 mL) to 1000 mL of D5W with or without NS.
Reconstitution: Dilute with D5W or D5NS, but not recommended to dilute in NS. Stable for 24 hours at room temp.
Compatibility: Stable in D5NS, D5W, LR. Avoid contact with iron salts, alkalis, or oxidizing agents. Administer whole blood or plasma separately (i.e. by use of a Y-tube and individual containers if given simultaneously).
Y-site administration:
Drug to Drug IV Compatibility: Amikacin, amiodarone, aztreonam, bumetanide, calcium gluconate, cephazolin, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, cisatracurium, dexamethasone, diltiazem, diphenhydramine, dobutamine, dopamine, enalapril, epinephrine, esmolol, famotidine, fentanyl, fluconazole, gentamicin, heparin, hydrocortisone, hydromorphone, imipenem, labetalol, linezolid, lorazepam, magnesium sulphate, meropenem, methylprednisolone, metoclopramide, midazolam, milrinone, morphine, nitroglycerin, nitroprusside, ondansetron, phenylephrine, piperacillin/tazobactam, propofol, ranitidine, tobramycin, vancomycin, vasopressin, vecuronium.
Drug to Drug IV Incompatibility: Insulin regular, thiopental.
When admixed: Incompatible with aminophylline, amobarbital, chlorothiazide, chlorpheniramine, pentobarbital, phenobarbital, phenytoin, sodium bicarbonate, streptomycin, thiopental.
Stability: Store at 25°C (77°F), excursions are permitted to 15°C-30°C (59°F-86°F). Protect from light.

Acute hypotension (septic shock) or shock secondary to excessive vasodilation (as noradrenaline): Continuous IV infusion. Neonate, 20-100 nanograms (base)/kg/minute adjusted according to response; max 1 mcg (base)/kg/minute; 1 mth-18 yr, 20-100 nanograms (base)/kg/minute adjusted according to response; max. 1 mcg (base)/kg/minute.

Cardiac arrest: Adults: By rapid intravenous or intracardiac injection, 0.5-0.75 mL of a solution containing noradrenaline acid tartrate 200 mcg/ mL (equivalent to noradrenaline base 100 mcg/ mL).
