How it works
Omrel Plus capsule 20/1100 mg 10’s works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is an antacid that reduces stomach acid and helps omeprazole to work better. This medication relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. It helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus.

what are the adverse effects of Omrel Plus capsule 20/1100 mg 10’s?
Headache, GI upset, skin rashes, paraesthesia, dizziness, somnolence, insomnia, arthralgia, myalgia. Increased risk of GI infections. Increase in liver enzymes.
What happens if I miss a dose of Omrel Plus capsule 20/1100 mg 10’s?
The dosage mentioned are calculated on the basis of Omeprazole in the product contents. Reflux oesophagitis: Adults: 20 mg once daily for 4 wk, extend for a further 4-8 wk if not fully healed. Refractory cases, 40 mg once daily.
Acid-reflux disease: Adults: Long-term management, 10 mg once daily, increasing to 20 mg once daily if symptoms return.
Duodenal ulcer: Adults: 20 mg once daily for 4 wk. Severe cases, increasing to 40 mg once daily. Prevention of relapse, 10 mg once daily, increasing to 20 mg once daily if symptoms return.
DU with H. pylori: Adults: 40 mg daily with amoxicillin 1.5-2 gm daily for 2 wk.
Gastric ulcer: Adults: 20 mg once daily for 8 wk. Severe cases, increase to 40 mg once daily.
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Adults: 60 mg once daily adjusted to response. Usual maintenance, 20-120 mg daily. Doses over 80 mg daily, give in two divided doses.
Acid aspiration: Adults: 40 mg in the evening of day before surgery, then 40 mg 1-4 hr prior to surgery.
Children: Not recommended.
