Oxcin 0.50% Eye Drops 5 ml is used in the treatment of Skin and Structure infection like cellulitis, wound infection and cutaneous abscess caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus.

Oxcin 0.50% Eye Drops 5 ml is used in the treatment of intra-abdominal infections caused by Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella species.

Tendinitis and tendon rupture
Use of Oxcin 0.50% Eye Drops 5 ml will increase the risk to develop tendinitis or tendon rupture during the treatment or several months after treatment. It will affect the shoulder, hand, the back of your ankle, or other parts of your body. The risk is more if you are above 60 years of age and have a history of kidney, heart, or lung transplant and joint disease. You are also at high risk if you are on corticosteroids like dexamethasone, methylprednisolone or prednisone.

Drug-resistance
Usage of Oxcin 0.50% Eye Drops 5 ml without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.

Central nervous system effects
Oxcin 0.50% Eye Drops 5 ml should be used with caution the patients with epilepsy or other CNS disorders. Discontinue the treatment if any symptoms appear until the exact cause is identified.

Conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, dry eye, keratitis; ocular discomfort, hyperaemia, pain & pruritus; sub-conjunctival haemorrhage, tearing.
What happens if I miss a dose of Oxcin 0.50% Eye Drops 5 ml?
Adults & Children: Eye Drop: 1 drop in the affected eye three times daily for 7 days. Continue treatment for 2-3 days after infection clears, review if no improvement within 5 days.
Eye Oint: 2-3 times/day or as prescribed by physician.
