How to use Piractim syrup 1 gm/5 mL 120 mL
Administered IV at the recommended daily dose. The injectable ampoules administered IV over several mins. The infusion is administered continuously at the recommended daily dose over a 24 hr period.
what are the adverse effects of Piractim syrup 1 gm/5 mL 120 mL?
Hyperkinesia, insomnia, weight gain, somnolence, nervousness. Depression, diarrhoea, rash.
What happens if I miss a dose of Piractim syrup 1 gm/5 mL 120 mL?
ORAL: Adults: Initially 7.2 gm daily, increase, if necessary, in increments of 4.8 gm daily at three or four day intervals; max 20 gm daily in 2-3 divided doses. Children: Not recommended.
INJECTION: Adults: 1 gm IV 3 times per day. Children: 30-50 mg/kg/day.
Sub-acute indications: Adults: 3 amp twice daily.
Acute indications: Adults: 3 amp four times daily.
