PREZISTA 600 mg film coated tablets
How it Works:
PREZISTA contains the active ingredient Darunavir, which is a protease inhibitor. Darunavir inhibits the HIV protease enzyme, preventing the cleavage of viral polypeptides into functional proteins necessary for viral replication. By blocking this process, Darunavir helps to reduce the production of new HIV particles, thereby suppressing viral replication and slowing down the progression of HIV infection.
Side Effects:
Nausea
Diarrhea
Headache
Rash
Elevated liver enzymes
Indications:
Treatment of HIV-1 infection in combination with other antiretroviral agents in treatment-naive and treatment-experienced adult patients.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Darunavir or any of the components of PREZISTA.
Severe hepatic impairment.
Co-administration with drugs that are highly dependent on CYP3A or UGT1A1 for clearance and for which elevated plasma concentrations are associated with serious and/or life-threatening events.
