Post menopausal symptoms
This medicine is used to relieve and treat the symptoms experienced after menopause. Most common symptoms include hot flashes and vaginal dryness.

Vaginal/vulvar atrophy
This medicine is used to treat vaginal atrophy marked by thinning and shrinking of tissues in the urethra and the vagina and decreased lubrication due to lack of hormone estrogen.

Hypoestrogenism
This medicine is used to treat hypoestrogenism characterized by low estrogen levels and associated side effects. This may be due to castration, hypogonadism, or failure of the ovaries.

Primary ovarian failure
This medicine is used to treat the symptoms of primary ovarian failure which results in low estrogen level in the body and infertility.

End-stage breast cancer
This medicine is used to manage the symptoms of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having breast cancer. It should also not be used if a patient has had breast cancer before or is suspected of having it. Patients having end stage breast cancer and on palliative care are an exception here.

Estrogen-dependent tumor
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having cancer which is attributed to abnormal levels of the hormone estrogen in the body for prolonged duration.

Liver disease
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having an impairment of liver function owing to a disease or other contributing factors.

Abnormal vaginal bleeding
This medicine should not be given to women having undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding. Appropriate tests should be performed to rule out cancer in all cases of abnormal and persistent bleeding before treatment with PROGYLUTON DEPOT 10mg Injection 3ml is initiated.

Cardiovascular risks
This medicine has been associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, and other complications associated with the heart. It should be used with caution in patients having a heart disease or are exposed to the risk factors.

Dementia
This medicine has been associated with an increased risk of dementia especially in the elderly. Caution is advised if this medicine is used in the elderly for longer durations.

Breast cancer
Use of this medicine increases the risks of breast cancer and hence should be used at the lowest doses and the duration of treatment should be kept as low as possible.

Jaundice like symptoms
Use of this medicine can cause yellowing of the eyes and skin due to its effect on the liver and the gall bladder. Report the presence of any symptom indicative of jaundice to the doctor on priority. Use of this medicine should be stopped in such cases.

Surgery
Use of this medicine should be stopped 4 weeks prior to a major surgery. The risk of complications while performing a surgery increases significantly if this medicine is used.

Oedema
Use of this medicine, especially the topical forms, may cause fluid retention or other associated problems in women. Any swelling of the eye, throat, tongue, arms, and feet should be reported to the doctor.

Difference in vision
Use of this medicine has been associated with partial or complete loss of vision in some rare cases. Any abnormalities in vision should be promptly reported to the doctor. Special precautions should be taken if the patient is wearing contact lenses.

Gall bladder disease
Use of this medicine can increase the risk of gallbladder diseases, especially in postmenopausal women. It should be used with caution in patients suffering from a disease of the gall bladder
