How It Works

REVLIMID contains the active ingredient lenalidomide, which is an immunomodulatory drug with anti-cancer properties. Lenalidomide works by affecting the immune system and the microenvironment to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It exerts its effects through several mechanisms, including anti-proliferative, anti-angiogenic, and immunomodulatory activities. Lenalidomide inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, promotes the activity of immune cells, and induces apoptosis (cell death) in cancer cells, leading to reduced tumor growth and progression.

Indications

• REVLIMID is indicated for the treatment of:
  • Multiple myeloma (in combination with dexamethasone)

Contraindications

• Pregnancy (due to risk of fetal harm)
• Severe renal impairment
• Severe hepatic impairment
• Hypersensitivity to lenalidomide or any component of the formulation
