How it Works

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used to treat various autoimmune conditions. JAK enzymes play a crucial role in the signaling pathway of several cytokines and growth factors that are important for hematopoiesis and immune function. By inhibiting JAK1, Rinvoq interferes with the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which reduces the activity of the immune system that causes inflammation and damage in autoimmune diseases. This helps in reducing the symptoms and progression of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and atopic dermatitis.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding (use with caution and only if clearly needed)
• Concurrent use with other JAK inhibitors, biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), or potent immunosuppressants like azathioprine or cyclosporine
