How to use Salazopyrin tablet 500 mg 100’s

UNLICENSED USE
Children: Juvenile idiopathic arthritis: 2-18 yr, Initially 5 mg/kg twice daily for 1 wk, then 10 mg/kg twice daily for 1 wk, then 20 mg/kg twice daily for 1 wk, maintenance dose 20-25 mg/kg twice daily. Max daily 2 gm for 2-12 yr and 3 gm for 12-18 yr.

What happens if I miss a dose of Salazopyrin tablet 500 mg 100’s?

Ulcerative colitis, crohn’s disease: Adults: 2-4 tab for 2-3 wk; maintenance, 4 tab daily in divided doses. Children: Under 2 yr, not recommended; others, 40-60 mg/kg body-wt. daily; maintenance, 20-30 mg/kg body-wt. daily. Rheumatoid arthritis: Adults: Initially 1 daily for 1 wk, increasing by 1 each wk to max 6 daily in divided doses. Children: Under 2 yr, not recommended. Treatment of acute attack of mild to moderate and severe ulcerative colitis, active Crohn’s disease: 2-12 yr, 10-15 mg/kg (max 1 gm) 4-6 times daily until remission occurs; increased to max 60 mg/kg daily in divided doses, if necessary; 12-18 yr, 1-2 gm 4 times daily until remission occurs.
Maintenance of remission of mild to moderate and severe ulcerative colitis: 2-12 yr, 5-7.5 mg/kg (max 500 mg) 4 times daily; 12-18 yr, 500mg 4 times daily.
