Liver injury

Arrhythmias and QT Prolongation
Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s may cause Arrhythmia and QT Prolongation especially in the patients with existing heart disease. Close monitoring of heart function is necessary. Do not use medicines that can increase the risk of Arrhythmia.

Hearing loss
Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s may cause transient or permanent hearing loss when taken with quinidine. Close monitoring of any symptoms of any hearing problem is necessary. Discontinue the treatment if symptoms persist.

Cystic Fibrosis
Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s should be used with caution in the patients with cystic fibrosis. Switch to alternate treatment if this medicine is not responding.

Absorption
Absorption of Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s is higher in acidic conditions. Do not take any medicines that can alter gastric acid content.

Neuropathy
Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s may cause weakness, numbness, and pain in hands and feet. Discontinue the treatment if these symptoms appear.

what are the adverse effects of Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s?
Nausea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, headache, dizziness, dysgeusia, dyspnoea, cough, GI upset, rash, pyrexia, heart failure, hepatotoxicity, neuropathy, hearing loss.
What happens if I miss a dose of Sporanox capsule 100 mg 4’s?
Adults: Take with full meal.
Blastomycosis/ Histoplasmosis: 200 mg once daily. Increase by 100 mg if no improvement. Max: 400 mg/day.
Aspergillosis: 200-400 mg/day. Life-threatening Infection: Loading Dosage: 200 mg three times daily for 1st 3 day. Continue for minimum 3 mth & until infection subsides.
Onychomycosis: Toe nails: 200 mg once daily for 12 wk. Finger nails: 200 mg once daily for 1 wk, stop therapy for 3 wk, then repeat.
Oropharyngeal Candidiasis: 200 mg/day for 1-2 wk.
Oesophageal Candidiasis: 100-200 mg once daily for minimum 3 wk. Continue for 2 wk after symptoms resolve.
Pityriasis versicolor: 200 mg once daily for 7 days.
T. corporis and T. cruris: 100 mg once daily for 15 days.
T. pedis and T. manuum: 100 mg once daily for 30 days.
Vaginal candidosis: 200 mg twice daily for 1 day or once daily for 3 days.
Children and Elderly: Not recommended.
