How it works
Squad Injection 2 gm 1 Vial interferes with the bacterial cell wall formation and stops the growth of bacteria. Sulbactam inhibits some chemicals produced by the bacteria and makes the bacteria more sensitive to cefoperazone activity.

This medicine is used in the treatment of upper and lower urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc.

This medicine is used in the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella species, Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter species, etc.

Intra-abdominal Infections
This medicine is used in the treatment of intra-abdominal infections such as peritonitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis, etc. caused by susceptible bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc.

Bacterial Septicemia
This medicine is used in the treatment of bacterial septicemia which is an infection of the blood that may be caused by bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, etc.

Safe with Alchohol?
Use of this medicine within 48-72 hours of alcohol consumption may cause a disulfiram like-reaction. This reaction is characterized by symptoms such as severe vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, palpitations, difficulty in breathing, sweating, increased heart rate, etc. Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with this medicine and for several days after the therapy has been stopped. Any unusual symptoms should be reported to the doctor on priority. It is advised that you inform your doctor if you have consumed alcohol before beginning therapy with this medicine.

Renal impairment
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of renal impairment due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Intravenous Use
When administered as an intravenous infusion, this medicine should be administered over a duration of 15 to 60 minutes. When administered as an intravenous injection, this medicine should be administered over a minimum of 3 minutes.

Drug resistance
Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and may even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea
Inform the doctor immediately in case of severe and persistent diarrhea. Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora in the large intestine. This may decrease the gut-friendly bacteria and may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile, resulting in diarrhea. Appropriate corrective measures and replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Liver diseases
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with a known history of liver diseases or active liver diseases due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is recommended for such patients. The dose of cefoperazone should not exceed 4 g/day for such patients unless specifically required and only with close monitoring of serum cefoperazone concentrations and liver function. In patients with liver and renal function impairment, the cefoperazone dose should not exceed 2 g/day.

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of electrolyte imbalance since it may worsen the patient's condition. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Close monitoring of electrolyte levels, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

what are the adverse effects of Squad Injection 2 gm 1 Vial?
Diarrhoea, nausea & vomiting, maculopapular rash & urticaria, haematological changes, headache, fever, inj pain, chills, increase in liver enzymes.
What happens if I miss a dose of Squad Injection 2 gm 1 Vial?
Adults: 2-4 gm/day IV in equally divided doses every 12 hr, may be increased up to max 8 gm/day (equiv to cefoperazone 4 gm/day) in severe infections.
Children: 40-80 mg/kg/day in 2-4 equally divided doses, may be increased up to max 180 mg/kg/day in severe infections. Newborn infants to 1 wk: 40-80 mg/kg/day every 12 hr. Max sulbactam dose in children 80 mg/kg/day. For cefoperazone dose gt;80 mg/kg/day, given cefoperazone separately.
