How to use Sucfate tablet 500 mg 20’s

UNLICENSED USE
Children: Prophylaxis of stress ulceration in child under intensive care: 1 mth-2 yr: 250 mg 4-6 times daily. 2-12 yr: 500 mg 4-6 times daily. 12-15 yr: 1 gm 4-6 times daily. 15-18 yr: 1 g 6 times daily; max. 8 g daily.
Benign gastric and duodenal ulceration: 1 mth-2 yr: 250mg 4-6 times daily. 2-12 yr: 500 mg 4-6 times daily. 12-15 yr: 1 gm 4-6 times daily. 15-18 yr: 2 gm twice daily (on rising and at bedtime) or 1 gm 4 times daily (1 hr before meals and at bedtime) taken for 4-6 wk, or in resistant cases up to 12 wk; max. 8 gm daily.

What happens if I miss a dose of Sucfate tablet 500 mg 20’s?

Adults: 1 gm 4 times daily on empty stomach one hr before meals and at bed time. Can also be given 2 gm twice a day on empty stomach. Usual treatment period, 4-6 wk or up to 12 wk in resistant cases. Prophylaxis, 1 gm six times daily; max 8 gm daily. Note: No antacids within 1/2 hr before or after sucralfate. Children: Not recommended.
