How It Works
Takhzyro (lanadelumab-flyo) is a monoclonal antibody that works by inhibiting plasma kallikrein, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the pathway that leads to the production of bradykinin. Bradykinin is a peptide that causes blood vessels to dilate and become leaky, leading to the symptoms of hereditary angioedema (HAE). By blocking plasma kallikrein, Takhzyro reduces the frequency and severity of HAE attacks.
