Uses of TAUFEL 5% Gel 15g

What is it prescribed for?

• Pain and irritation

  This medicine is used to relieve pain, burning sensation, itching, and discomfort associated with minor cuts, scratches, skin irritation, insect bites, burns, etc. It is also used to relieve pain caused due to irritated or inflamed mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.

• Local anesthesia

  This medicine is may be used to produce a temporary loss of sensation in a part of the body before certain types of medical procedures or other conditions as determined by the doctor or healthcare professional.

When not to use?

• Other medicines

  This medicine may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.

• Eye/Ear irritation

  This medicine should not be applied to the eyes, ears, or cracked skin surface. Wash the eyes immediately with water if contact with this medicine occurs.

• Irritation and redness

  If you develop skin redness and irritation after using this medicine, discontinue its use immediately. If the symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult your doctor for further treatment.

• Severe burns and cuts

  This medicine is not recommended for use in case of severe burns or cuts, deep puncture wounds, and animal bites, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

• Allergic reactions

  This medicine may cause allergic reactions like cutaneous lesions, urticaria, edema, anaphylactoid reactions, etc. in some patients. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

• Usuage instructions

  It is advised not to eat anything for at least 1 hour if the gel is applied in the mouth or throat area. Numbness of the tongue may cause chances to bite the inside of the mouth accidentally. When it is used on the skin, it is recommended not to scratch, rub, or expose the area to extreme hot or cold temperature until the numbness is gone.
