Warnings for special population
  • Pregnancy

    This medicine may cause severe kidney injury. The risk may increase if taken with aminoglycoside antibiotics. Close monitoring of serum creatinine, urea, and sodium levels is necessary. Do not administer this medicine more than once every 3 to 4 weeks.

  • Breast-feeding

    This medicine is not recommended in breastfeeding women.

General Warnings
  • Impaired kidney function

    This medicine may cause severe kidney injury. The risk may increase if taken with aminoglycoside antibiotics. Close monitoring of serum creatinine, urea, and sodium levels is necessary. Do not administer this medicine more than once every 3 to 4 weeks.

  • Hearing impairment

    This medicine may cause the hearing problem which is more common in children. Audiometric testing should be performed before initiating the treatment and also before every dose. Any symptoms of the hearing problem should be reported to the doctor.

  • Allergy

    This medicine may cause serious skin reactions. Discontinue the treatment if any symptoms of allergy appear and do not restart.

  • Blood cell count

    This medicine may lower the white blood cells and platelets. Close monitoring of blood cell count is necessary. Do not start the treatment if the cell count is low.

  • Infections

    The chances of occurring infections are more in patients receiving this medicine. Hold the chemotherapy and start with the broad-spectrum antibiotics if there are any signs and symptoms of fever. Close monitoring of the body temperature and the blood cell count is necessary.

How to use Toxiplatin Injection 450 mg 1 Vialx45 mL

Administer as IV push or bolus over 15 min up to a continuous intravenous infusion over 24 hour. Reconstitute powder to yield a final conc of 10 mg/mL. May also be administered intraperitoneally. When administered as sequential infusions, taxane derivatives (docetaxel, paclitaxel) should be administered before platinum derivatives to limit myelosuppression and to enhance efficacy. Do not use needles or IV administration sets containing aluminium parts that may come in contact with carboplatin (aluminium can react causing precipitate formation and loss of potency).
Compatibility: Stable in D5¼ NS, D5½ NS, D5NS, D5W, NS.
Stability: Store at 25°C (77°F); excursions permitted from 15°C-30°C (59°F-86°F). Protect from light. Use carboplatin solutions within 8 hours of reconstitution or preparation when stored at room temperature (25°C; 77°F). When stored in the original multidose vial, the commercially available solution is stable for up to 14 days at room temperature even with multiple needle entries.

Advanced Ovarian Carcinoma: Adults: Single Agent: 360 mg/m² IV on day 1, then every 4 wk. Combination Therapy: 300 mg/m² IV on 1, then every 4 wk x 6 cycles. Adjust based on platelet & neutrophil count.
