TRAJENTA TABLET 5MG contains Linagliptin, which is used to treat type 2 diabetes by controlling blood sugar levels.
How It Works
Linagliptin belongs to the class of medications called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones in the body. These hormones help stimulate the pancreas to release insulin and reduce the amount of glucose produced by the liver.

What is it prescribed for?

Type II Diabetes Mellitus
This medicine reduces blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to TRAJENTA TABLET 5MG ( LINAGLIPTIN ) or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Type 1 Diabetes mellitus
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus since it is not effective in treating this condition.

Diabetic ketoacidosis
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of diabetic ketoacidosis due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Insulin secreagogues
This medicine should be used with caution in patients who are using insulin secretagogues due to the increased risk of hypoglycemia. Close monitoring of blood sugar levels is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Bullous pemphigoid
This medicine should be used with caution due to the increased risk of bullous pemphigoid, a hypersensitivity reaction of the skin.
