How to use Tritop tablet 50 mg 6×10’s

UNLICENSED USE
Children: Migraine prophylaxis: 16-18 yr, initially 25 mg at night for 1 wk then increased in steps of 25 mg daily at wkly intervals; usual dose 50-100 mg daily in 2 divided doses, max 200 mg daily. If child cannot tolerate titration regimens recommended above then smaller steps or longer interval between steps may be used.

Ataxia, difficulty concentrating, confusion, dizziness, fatigue, paraesthesia, somnolence, emotional lability, depression, CNS disturbances. Rarely, renal stones, weight loss.

What happens if I miss a dose of Tritop tablet 50 mg 6×10’s?

Adults: Initially 50 mg daily for one wk, then increase by 50 mg in two divided doses daily at wkly intervals Usual maintenance, 200-400 mg daily in two divided doses; max 800 mg daily. Use lower dose and longer interval between increments if patient is unable to tolerate titration regimen.
Children: Monotherapy of generalised tonic-clonic seizures or focal seizures with or without secondary generalization: 6-18 yr, initially 0.5-1 mg/kg (max 25 mg) at night for 1 wk then increased in steps of 250-500 mcg/kg (max. 25 mg) twice daily at intervals of 1-2 wk; initial target dose 50 mg twice daily, max 7.5 mg/kg (max 250 mg) twice daily.
Adjunctive treatment of generalised tonic-clonic seizures or focal seizures with or without secondary generalisation, adjunctive treatment of seizures in Lennox-Gastaut syndrome: 2-18 yr, initially 1-3 mg/kg (max 25 mg) at night for 1 wk then increased in steps of 0.5-1.5 mg/kg (max. 25 mg) twice daily at intervals of 1-2 wk, usual dose 2.5-4.5 mg/kg twice daily, max 7.5 mg/kg (max 200 mg) twice daily.
