U-Butol+3 tablet 120/60/225/300 mg 100’s kills actively growing tubercle bacilli by inhibiting the biosynthesis of mycolic acids which are major components of the cell wall of M. tuberculosis
RIFAMPICIN: Heartburn, epigastric distress, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore mouth. Rash, pruritus, urticaria. Eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia. Muscular weakness, pain in extremities. Visual disturbances, haemoglobinuria, hematuria. Menstrual disturbances.
ISONIAZID: Peripheral neuropathy. Nausea, vomiting epigastric distress. Elevated SGOT, SGPT, SGOPT.
ETHAMBUTOL: Optic neuritis (related to dose and duration of treatment). Anaphylactoid reactions. Anorexia, nausea vomiting abdominal distress. Fever, malaise headache dizziness. Elevated serum uric acid level.
PYRAZINAMIDE: Hepatitis which can be minimized by dosage adjustment.
Adults: All once daily. 30-37 kg, 2 tab; 38-45 kg, 3 tab; 55-70 kg, 4 tab. Children: Not recommended.
