  • Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea

    Avoid if you experience severe diarrhea after receiving Uneflex capsule 250 mg 12’s lAs antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora in the large intestine which promotes the growth of bacteria called Clostridium difficile - causing diarrhea.

  • Impaired kidney function

    Use with caution if you have a preexisting kidney disease. Appropriate dose adjustments are to be made based on CrCl or eGFR.

  • Impaired liver function

    Uneflex capsule 250 mg 12’s and other cephalosporins are reported to cause liver diseases like Hepatitis and Cholestatic jaundice. Use with caution if you have a risk of developing liver disease. Suitable dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

  • Drug- resistance

    Usage of Uneflex capsule 250 mg 12’s without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.

What is the dose of Uneflex capsule 250 mg 12’s

Adults: Usually 1-2 gm daily in two to four divided doses. Children: Under 3 mth, 65.5-125 mg twice daily; 4 mth-2 yr, 250-500 mg daily; 3-6 yr, 1-2 gm daily. All in two to four divided doses.
Lower Respiratory Infection: Adults: Usual: 250 mg every 6 hr. Max: 4 gm/day. Children: Usual: 25-50 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
Upper Respiratory Infection: Adults: Usual: 250 mg every 6 hr.
Streptococcal Pharyngitis: Adults: 500 mg every 12 hr. Max: 4 gm/day. Children: gt;1 yr: Usual: 25-50 mg/kg/day given every 12 hr
Otitis Media: Children: 75-100 mg/kg/day given every 6 hr.
Skin Infection: Adults: 500 mg every 12 hr. Max: 4 gm/day. Children: 25-50 mg/kg/day given every 12 hr.
Urinary Tract Infection: Adults: Usual: 250 mg every 6 hr. Uncomplicated Cystitis: 500 mg every 12 hr for 7-14 days. Max: 4 gm/day. Children: Usual: 25-50 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
