Uses of VOMILIDE 5mg|ml Injection 10sx2ml

What is it prescribed for?

• Chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting

  This medicine is used to treat nausea and vomiting associated with the use of chemotherapy medicines for the treatment of cancer.

• Gastroparesis

  This medicine is used in the treatment of gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying) in diabetic patients, since it increases the gastric emptying and prevents nausea and vomiting.

• Small Intestine Intubation

  This medicine is used as an aid to facilitate small bowel intubation in patients whom the tube does not pass the pylorus with conventional means.

• Radiological examination

  This medicine is used as an aid in radiological examination of the stomach and/or small intestine to stimulate the gastric emptying and intestinal transit.

When not to use?

• Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS)

  Use of this medicine may cause Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome which is characterized by hyperthermia (fever), muscle rigidity, and altered consciousness. Report to the doctor immediately if these symptoms appear. Discontinue the treatment with this medicine if the symptoms persist.

• Depression

  Use of this medicine may cause depression in patients with or without the prior history of depression. Any symptoms of change in behavior or suicidal thoughts should be informed to the doctor on priority. Discontinue the treatment with this medicine if the symptoms worsen.

• Kidney impairment

  This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from kidney function impairment due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

• Liver impairment

  This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

• Driving or operating machinery

  Use of this medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during or immediately after treatment with this medicine.
