How It Works

Xiaflex contains an enzyme called collagenase clostridium histolyticum, which works by breaking down collagen, a fibrous protein that contributes to the formation of abnormal tissue in Dupuytren’s contracture and Peyronie’s disease. By breaking down the collagen fibers, Xiaflex helps to soften and weaken the tissue, making it easier to straighten the affected finger in Dupuytren’s contracture or reduce penile curvature in Peyronie’s disease.

Indications

• Xiaflex is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with Dupuytren’s contracture with a palpable cord.
• Xiaflex is also indicated for the treatment of adult men with Peyronie’s disease with a palpable plaque and curvature deformity of at least 30 degrees at the start of therapy.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to collagenase clostridium histolyticum or any of the excipients
• Active infection in the treatment area
• History of allergic reaction to collagenase clostridium histolyticum
