How to use Zenok capsule 150 mg 1’s
IV: Fluconazole be administered by IV Infusion over approx 1-2 hours; do not exceed 200 mg/hour when giving IV Infusion. Standard diluent: 200 mg/100 mL NS (premixed); 400 mg/200 mL NS (premixed).
Compatibility: Stable in D5W, LR, NS.

Drug to Drug IV Compatibility: Acyclovir, amikacin, amiodarone, aztreonam, bumetanide, cephazolin, cefepime, cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, cisatracurium, dexamethasone, diltiazem, diphenhydramine, dobutamine, dopamine, enalapril, epinephrine, esmolol, famotidine, fentanyl, gentamicin, heparin, hydrocortisone, hydromorphone, insulin regular, labetalol, lansoprazole, levofloxacin, linezolid, lorazepam, magnesium sulphate, meropenem, methylprednisolone, metoclopramide, metronidazole, midazolam, morphine, nitroglycerin, nitroprusside, norepinephrine, ondansetron, phenylephrine, piperacillin/tazobactam, propofol, ranitidine, tobramycin, vancomycin, vasopressin, vecuronium.
Drug to Drug IV Incompatibility: Amphotericin B, amphotericin B cholesteryl sulphate complex, ampicillin, calcium gluconate, cefoxitin, ceftazidime, ceftriaxone, cefuroxime, chloramphenicol, clindamycin, co-trimoxazole, diazepam, digoxin, erythromycin lactobionate, furosemide, haloperidol, hydroxyzine, imipenem/cilastatin, pantoprazole, pentamidine, piperacillin, ticarcillin.
When admixed: Incompatible with co-trimoxazole.
Stability: Store vial at 5°C-30°C. Do not freeze. Do not unwrap until ready for use.
what are the adverse effects of Zenok capsule 150 mg 1’s?
GI upset, headache, rash, altered LFTs. Reports of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (discontinue).
What happens if I miss a dose of Zenok capsule 150 mg 1’s?
Vaginal candidiasis and candidal balanitis: Adults: Orally, a single dose of 150 mg.
Mucosal candidiasis (except genital): Adults: Orally, 50 mg daily (100 mg daily in unusually difficult infections) given for 7-14 days in oropharyngeal candidiasis (max 14 days except in severely immunocompromised patients); for 14 days in atrophic oral candidiasis associated with dentures; for 14-30 days in other mucosal infections (e.g. oesophagitis, candiduria, non-invasive bronchopulmonary infections). Children: Orally or by IV infusion, 3-6 mg/kg on first day then 3 mg/kg daily (every 72 hr in neonates up to 2 wk old, every 48 hr in neonates of 2-4 wk old).
Tinea pedis, corporis, cruris, versicolor and dermal candidiasis: Adults: Orally 50 mg daily for 2-4 wk (for up to 6 wk in tinea pedis); max duration of treatment 6 wk.
Invasive candidal infections (including candidaemia and disseminated candidiasis) and cryptococcal infections (including meningitis), Orally or IV Infusion, 400 mg on first day then 200-400 mg daily; max 800 mg daily in severe infections. (unlicensed dose); treatment continued according to response (at least 8 weeks for cryptococcal meningitis); Children: 6-12 mg/kg daily (every 72 hrs in neonates up to 2 weeks old, every 48 hrs in neonate 2-4 weeks old); max. 800 mg daily (unlicensed dose).
Prevention of relapse of cryptococcal meningitis in AIDS patients after completion of primary therapy: Adults: Orally 100-200 mg daily.
Prevention of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients following cytotoxic chemotherapy or radiotherapy: Adults: Orally or by IV infusion 50-400 mg daily adjusted according to risk; 400 mg daily if high risk of systemic infections e.g. following bone-marrow transplantation; commence treatment before anticipated onset of neutropenia and continue for 7 days after neutrophil count in desirable range. Children: According to extent and duration of neutropenia, 3-12 mg/kg daily (every 72 hr in neonates up to 2 wk old, every 48 hr in neonates of 2-4 wk old); max. 400 mg daily.
